Beautiful Secluded Gulf Coast Holiday Idyll
or
Man Walking Away From Me

So much going on right now. And so much to do amid the goings on, that there's no space to see whether the doing should pause and consider the goings. Else, when all's done, where will we be?

sometimes I want to say something to you but I don't know where to begin, because you're so very layered, and I feel like I owe you ideas couched in layered sentiments because of this.

hence my (only verbal, never emotional) neglect of late.

please forgive.

and accept this big, sticky, chocolate-encrusted hug.

p.s. it was super rude of me to condescend to offer you such a messy hug, but it's all I've got right now; you see, I've spent the latter half of the morning rolling around in chocolate, to fend off the tantrums.

needless to say, it didn't work, but the chocolate at least made me less sentient.

which was good.

sorta.

Sitting here with my mug of tea, having just been outside with my girl in a sunny but cold day here in Oregon, that photo is pulling me to memories of days at the beach. This would be a great winter day for the beach - sunny and only a little windy, but cold enough to keep everyone else away.

sorry to hear about the tantrums. I hear it's a phase!

I'm just on my way up to bed and was fixing myself a drink (milky decaf, not the other kind) and I swiped some chocolate shapes, made for P, HANDMADE for P by her auntie. This I have stolen from the child who is given confectionery so rarely, that on christmas eve, when writing her letter to santa, she asked me to add to skipping rope and fairy wand, "a bar".
"A bar" !!(chocolate, not the other kind).
I thought I'd got away with it, but now you've covered me in chocolate and there's no way she's not going to notice!

I don't feel neglected.

NLG - it was AWESOME on this beach. This wasn't the one where we had the rental house, this was a short drive away in the St Joe state park. 'our' beach had slightly less fine sand and bigger shells. It was wonderful, but the locals thought we were nuts to fly half way around the world to stay somewhere long after everyone else had left.
